2. What is the difference between galvanized and galvalume coils

Galvanized coils are made of steel that is coated with a layer of zinc to protect against corrosion. Galvanized coating is usually applied by hot-dipping, where the steel is dipped into a bath of molten zinc. This process produces a thick, uniform coating of zinc that provides effective protection against rust and other environmental factors.

Galvalume steel coils, on the other hand, are made of steel coated with a combination of zinc, aluminum, and silicon. This coating is also applied by hot-dipping, but the composition of the coating is different. Galvalume coating is known for its superior corrosion resistance, especially in harsh environments.

In summary, while both types of coatings provide some level of protection against corrosion and rust, galvalume coils offer better protection due to their unique composition. This is why galvalume is commonly used in roofing, siding, and other applications where durability is a top priority.
