what is the difference between ppgi and ppgl
PPGI and PPGL are both prepainted galvanized/galvalume steel, also known as pre-coated steel, color-coated steel, etc. The main difference between PPGI and PPGL is that the coated galvanized coil is coated with an organic coating (containing mainly polyvinylidene fluoride resin, also known as PVDF), and the PPGL is coated with a metal coating (containing mainly aluminum and zinc). The prepainted galvanized steel is more durable and has better corrosion resistance, while the PPGL is more economical and has better resistance to ultraviolet light.
Item | Material | Coating | Durability | Corrosion resistance | Ultraviolet Resistance | Cost |
PPGI | galvanized steel | polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF)Resin | high | high | moderate | moderate |
PPGL | galvalume steel | metal coating (Aluminum, zinc) | moderate | moderate | high | high |
Price ppgi ppgl
Because of better performance and fewer qualified manufacturers, the price of PPGL sheets is 3%-11% higher than that of PPGI sheets.
Which One Is Right for Me?
Apart from the differences, PPGI and PPGL sheets are also very similar. They both possess excellent corrosion resistance, formability and ease of painting, etc. Both of them are widely used in construction, shipbuilding, vehicle manufacturing, furniture, the electrical industry, etc.
